About

 Ko Wharepapa te maunga
Ko Maitai te awa
Ko Ngāti Tama, ko Te Ātiawa nga iwi
No Whakatū ahau
Kei Māpua ahau e noho ana
Ko Luke Mitchell taku ingoa

I paint abstract and figurative works inspired by nature, landscapes, buildings, people and maps. I think about colour interactions and movement. And I'm really interested in painting multiple layers which represent to me the influences of personal experience, economic, cultural and social factors which make us who we are and inform our perceptions and interactions.

I work in banking by day. I love animals, gardening and music, and hanging out with my partner. I find the best music for painting is jazz and classical.
